Application
An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) like the LKB or the LKF series is designed for switching
from one power source to another without going through a neutral
(off) position. The LK series of ATS offer an economical and reliable
solution for application that require emergency and /or standby
power. Examples of such applications include computer data centers,
industrial plants, and healthcare facilities where uninterrupted
power supply could determine a life and death situation.
Mechanism
Both the LKB and LKF series ATS are designed with high interrupting
capacity with a double throw construction whcich is mechanically
held and electrically operated. They work on solenoids to activate
the switch and relay in a fully automatic or manual fashion. For
ease and reliability of operation with minimal maintenance, these
ATS do not use complicated motors and gears as most other ATS
do. The ATS can be driven via AC or DC and clearly marked contacts
are provided for both types of power sources.
Materials
Simple to operate and compact in size, all contacts and bus bars
are extra size copper with very low resistance over the contact
points, thereby providing an efficient dissipation of heat. Movable
arms and main contacts are housed in an arching chamber.
Standards
The LKB and LKF ATS conform to the IEC
60947-6-1 standard.
Products
Please select one of the following LKE ATS products for
detailed information. The difference in the LKB and the LKF is
the size (capacity) of the ATS, with the LKB the larger of the
two:
